Hi Everybody!

I review recently published, new and forthcoming children’s picture books, both fiction and non-fiction.

Having been a children’s  library media specialist for over 30 years I’ve had the opportunity to share books, tell stories, and encourage a joy of reading with thousands of children.  How did I get to have such a fabulous job?  After completing my undergraduate degree in elementary education I went on to receive a Master’s degree in Children’s Librarianship.  I’m so glad I did!

The field of children’s library work has changed dramatically throughout the  years.  The introduction and integration of technology into our every waking moment has changed the way our youngest generations interact with the world.  Dramatic events in our society have changed the way we live and view our reality. And yet, underlying it all is the fundamental nature of children to see their lives through the filter of imagination.

The moment when a child enters a story,  experiences life as a character does and walks through the setting the author has created is magical. And you, the writers of these books, are so very important in bringing new and wonderful literary journeys into the world.

I welcome the opportunity to review and critique the work of new authors.  Visit my contact page to be in touch.

This opens my eyes to seeing stories in every day moments all around us. And it is from these every day moments that my stories begin.  Sharing these stories with my students as I write helps me to shape the tales to best speak to the hearts of this young audience.

Happy Reading and Happy Writing,

Suzy Grossman, M.L.S.
